dave ring is a
writer & editor of speculative fiction.
dave’s novella The Hidden Ones came out from Rebel Satori Press in fall 2021; his short story collection What Elegant Function comes out from Off Limits Press in 2025.
He is also the Ignyte and World Fantasy Award-nominated publisher and managing editor of Neon Hemlock Press (and co-editor of Baffling Magazine).
His anthology Unfettered Hexes: Queer Tales of Insatiable Darkness won the Shirley Jackson Award; it was also a finalist for the Locus Award. Glitter + Ashes: Queer Tales of a World That Wouldn’t Die was a finalist for the Lambda, Ignyte and Locus Awards.
dave was a 2013 Lambda Literary Fellow, a 2018 resident of Futurescapes and Disquiet, and a 2019 resident of Sundress Academy for the Arts. He is also a chair emeritus of the OutWrite LGBTQ Literary Festival in Washington, DC.
